Is there any chance of getting the masses of photo/video links in the same spot in an official 'fest gawpathon.

You might want to cross post this just one more time, but this time can I suggest the worst driving habits thread..

You've got some nice photos, but taking pictures while you are driving the car on a public road has got to be about the most stupid thing I have heard of in a long time. Photo of the road ahead is one thing, but to turn around while driving and take a picture of your passenger is pushing it way too far. Looks to me like you were in the outside lane too.

I've taken lots of pictures and video when a passenger so I know this would have required just a little attention that should have been directed at the road ahead. At best it may have been already switched on and you leant forward with one hand off the wheel while at speed to get that angle. At worst you will have had to switch it on, look through a viewfinder or at a screen while twisted around. I've done a lot of road safety work professionally, and am very glad I wasn't on the same road as you while you were doing that..

Given the angle I'd say it was more just "point and shoot" leftwards - I often do it with my moblie phone cam and take 2 or 3 shots - doesn't distact at all. When you get the other end you then pick the best one.

No more / no less distracting than talking to the person next to you, picking your nose, sneezing, talking into a camera when doing a car TV show etc. etc.

He who casts the first stone should be totally blameless.

I stand by my original post.

I looked at a wreck in which 2 people died when it was involved in a full frontal crash. The other driver had only glanced away to pick up something from the passenger seat and ploughed head long into a young couple. He had a big car and walked away from it. They had a much smaller one and both died.

I'd advise you don't have your right hand gripping the wheel more firmly than usual, this will adversely affect your reaction time if you have to do anything in a hurry. You will tend to over compensate as in the case above.

BTW, not intending on taking a poke at any upstanding members of our online community, but a moment's inattention can affect more than ourselves when driving. I think thats perhaps forgotten once in a while when we are out having fun.. Most of the lunatic driving I saw at Le Mans though was from non PHers I'm glad to say..

Sorry Burt, can't see it. Tells me I'm not logged in.

Would like to see as it seems the most "ordinary" car at the fest (my Legacy Est') has managed to appear on almost everybody's pics .

I read an article about the dangers of drinking the other day. Scared the sh*t out of me so I have vowed never to read another article again.
