I got pulled over for speeding about three months ago (3am, 90mph, wide roads, just didn't see him/wanted to be home quickly). The officer(s) dressed me down, showed me the video, and then, after a pause, read me my rights. They gave me an insurance and MOT producer (which I duly did the next day) and said I would be hearing from them in the mail.

It's now been three months. I believe that the fact they read me my right means that they've served the NIP as such. So, how long is it until I can breathe again/how long do they have to follow up with a conviction?

Cheers,
Graeme.

IIRC in the absence of , the information relating to the offence must be laid before a magistrate within six months of the date of the offence. The resulting summons may be served anytime after issue, even years later.
