Is there any reason why TVR fitted copper pipe along the chassis rails, using rubber at each end?

Seems to force more joints than necessary.

Any thoughts?

Rather than using rubber throughout, you mean? It's cheaper and more reliable. Rubber is prone to damage and will eventually need replacing. Cost was probably the main reason for the original choice, but the other reasons explain why it's a good idea to stick with it.

Halfords had them last time I was in, or any good motor factors should have them.

Most motor factors will stock them, even the nasty ones like halfwits will tend to stock a length of fuel hose plus a couple of fuel clips. If you get stuck, look for your local Pirtek or other specialist hydraulic agent. Do make sure you're using the right hose if you're replacing that - it has to be high pressure (5 bar minimum) and unleaded petrol friendly.

Most of the rubber is ok, and has been replaced in recent times.
Its the copper that will be renewed whilst the body is off.

Cheers again guys.

All the local factors up here only stocked Jubilees... VWP was where I sourced proper pipe clips from.
