Thanks for that. I didn't realise it was the Hammersmith show. I recorded it off the radio when it was first broadcast in 1988 (and still have the cassette). Good set list.

Hawkwind is it?

Last week I got the re-release of The Greasy Truckers Party, with a CD each from Hawkwind, Man and Brinsley Schwarz.

Keep an eye out for a BBC4 documentary on the band, called "Don't Panic" which should come back round on circulation eventually. It includes such gems as:
  • How the band finally ended the hippy movement at the isle of Wight Festival (they encouraged the ripping down of the fence)
  • How they lost Lemmy on tour.
  • How to assess the mental stability of band members (Bad sign: he has live grenades in his room) and how to sack him from the band (Run away while he's still asleep in bed. Tip: make sure he doesn't wake up and meet you in the lobby as you're checking out)
  • "Sonic Violence"

But it's got Huw Lloyd Langton on lead guitar. He really was an expert at playing out of tune solos.
