Ok, so they are Lada "based", but remembering 'Grovers, that broke and let him down , are there any brands that I should avoid?

TVRcarparts have some oe,I wouldn't go down the lada route,
1,the holes out of alignment.
2, they don't seat snugly in the wishbone mount

It is if you have a ball joint splitteryes
and the M8 bolts don't shear off and are rusted solid, then the little nob apprentice get's his hands on it at work while you're not there and s the wishbone

That's what happens when you give the job to someone else to doyeshehe
Have to say this is the only job I have ever done on any vehicle where I had to specifically go and buy a bigger hammer hehe

Mmmmmm... Bigger Hammer biggrin

Seriously tho, I don't have a fork type BJ splitter, only a clamp type & I managed to do all of mine ~ can't really remember how tho (might have used the club hammer delicately). I do prefer winding to bashing given the choice wink

Every bolt on mine sheared when taking off, I used a pincher to pop out the sheared bolts from the wishbone.- but I have to say replacing the bottom is a doddle compared to replacing the tops!

Tops can be done without a splitter... just a sharp 'tap' on the side of the housing and out they fall wink

Should be straightforward. Can be a fiddle if the bolts are rusted in (one out of six of mine was solid, so a bit lucky). If necessary, it is not that hard to drop the whole wishbone out to get at any rusted bits in a vice. Hardest bit is finding the right part to put back - compare the repalcement ones with the old ones very, very carefully, and I suggest you source from a TVR supplier.

Go for it - roger

The lower ball joints should sit snugly in a big hole in the lower wishbone, and I am not sure there would be any play in this to put out tracking (happy to be proved wrong). So long as you haven't messed with the track rod ends (no need to) not sure tracking would be out. But checking tracking doesn't cost much (compared to a new set of tyres), so I would look to check tracking every so often anyway.

Yeah, thinking about this, Quinny is right. You only need a smidge of difference at the ball joint to throw out the track. I would check it.
