Hmmm.

read

I've been reading in PPC magazine about the 2.9 12v v6 from the Scorpio Cosworth and how easily it drops into a Sierra, using XR4 mounts as a relatively painless route to 200 modern reliable BHP and oodles of torque. This has got me thinking, would therefore the engine in this for example:

Drop painlessly into XR4 mounts on something like this:

Or not? I may have missed loads here. I suppose one of the main questions is whether PPC were just talking about the 12v and the 24v is another kettle of fish. Theres just something about a tatty Capri with a 200bhp 3ltr modern 24v in it for less than a grand all in that appeals, bure I'm sure I've missed loads out and would appreciate the combined PH knowledge setting me straight.

Too much time on eBay does this to a man. I'm keen to learn about the oily stuff, and I reckon a cheap winter project may be the way forward. But is this too ambitious..

My understanding was that the Cosworth WAS the 24v version of the V6 (essentially a 12v V6 with quad cams, 24v).

I didn't know that cosworth developed a 12v V6?

NICE. That's what I wanted to hear smile thanks

If an engine transplant is easy in a 3dr Sierra will it be the same setup in a mid-eighties Capri?
