Mk3 Golf electric window fault - help please!
Discussion
Hey,
Just bought a Mk3 1.8gl and am very happy with my purchase. Here are a few pictures for those who are interested.

Anyway after checking all the windows on it I found one of the rears will go down and not up. As in not up at all. It's been a case of lifting it up and hoping it'll stay there.
Took the door card off yesterday and had a look. The motor is running fine both ways, but it seems the runner isn't catching on the way up.
Anybody had similar problems? All ideas appreciated.

Hi found this post while doing a search for something else. Not sure if you are still interested. However, the electric window regulators are a known week point on these cars. The lifter part detaches from the cable and the only fix is a new regulator. Theses are about £150 for a genuine item from VW or about £50 for a part from Euro car Parts.
Changing the mechanism is a bit fiddly but follow the Haynes manual and take your time.
