with Aston Martin, and Ford?

Aston Martins success started with the DB7 developed Jaguar XJ41 which was to be the F-type. More about this can be found below.

This in my opinion has all led to the great success of Aston Martin and could lead to the end of Jaguar. Aston gets ALL the credit for wonderful designs even though the DB7 was the first beautiful "Aston" since the Italian designed Zagato of the 60's and Jaguar gets accused of COPYING.rolleyes

Hopefully, the seed of change has been planted with Jag imerging from the shadow of Aston and Ford. Aston will always have the badge, but most peeps think my XKR is far better looking than the DB9 or AMV8. It's bigger, just as fast, designed by the same guy and I can fit a suitcase in the back. smile

Sorry Cerbman, but Aston Martin will always be my favorite. Jaguar is awesome, do not get me wrong, even though this is my first one, it has been nothing but fun. I have owned both the DB9 and now the new XK and as I have said before, they seem like the same car to me, but the AM owners would highly object to that previous statement of course.

P.S. What are the problems of the the guys over in the Supercars.net forum?

I think that the situation was very different from that portrayed in the article. The XJ41 was certainly a very pretty car, but as somebody who worked on the project, I think the end result was the best all round for everybody. Salvaging the style set Aston on the road to recovery and everybody learnt from the project to the benefit of all future Jaguar vehicles.

My main point is that Aston gets all the credit and Jaguar is constantly attacked for copying.

Jags just get on with being what they are.

Classic, quality BRITISH cars, regardless of who owns what piece of paper.
