500 miles? Are you MAD??

I didnt get a drive of my car until after Id paid the money and shaken hands on the deal. I did have it inspected and test driven by Rob Ingleby.

My first TVR I took on a 10 mile test drive and bought it there and then (I know, I know...NEVER buy the first one you see) and the Griff I took on a 30 mile jaunt (and bought that one as soon as I got back to Fernies, again, the one and only Griff I test drove).

And yes, the Cerb was the first one I enquired about.

I dont believe in messing about. Want it? Buy it! wink

The person that sold me my first cerb could have been more forthcoming.
Engine was shagged and was burning oil and was due a rebuild including 2 x heads.
The servicing garage said to me that they knew it was shagged before I bought it.

I took someone for a test drive at the weekend - probably a 15 to 20 mile round trip. I think that is long enough really

Not living in UK, I picked 4 or 5 different Cerbs and got a professional to examine and test drive them, after which he gave me one recommendation, which I bought, from someone who advertised it on PH's.

I think I drove it for about 15 miles or so, but I knew as soon as I sat in it, I knew I had to have it.

What about insurance issues, with someone test driving your car, if they bend it who pays?

Hi Russell, Chris here was nice meeting you & your dad the night before the Fighting Torque!!! (sorry its been a while!!)
I wish my seller of my Cerbie, had been more forthcoming and not a total liar when we went to buy it!! Firstly, suppose to have nitro adjustable shocks on, but instead it had all standards on, and on top of that they were all leaking!!!!
How it ever passed an MOT the day prior to going to see/buy it I'll never know!!!!Still nothing that another £9000 could fix once i got it home!!!!
Happy motoring mate
Chris

Alan took me for about a 20-25 minute run which was really good to see someone look after the car, warm it up before showing off it's performance.

I got to drive it for about a mile along a really quiet back road, which was enough to check the steering, clutch, gears etc.
