As Im thinking about getting a new camera, I was also toying with the fact of Camera Insurance.

Im not exactly flush with money so any camera I'd buy will be hard to replace if I break it or if it gets stolen.

I've been looking at http://www.eandl.co.uk/camera-insurance/ but to be honest, I don't really know what Im looking at! The premiums they quote seem extremly low, is this what I should expect to part with, its fantastic piece of mind if it is.

Can anyone with previous experience give me some advice please.

Jim.

i would normally recommend Morgan Richardson, but as they have just doubled (or attempted to) my premium, I'm afraid their days are numbered.

as a result, i may be lookin' for an alternative insurer too.

mine is covered on my halifax home and buildings/contents insurance

there is about 4k of personal cover standard and then any single items over 2k have to be listed separately

it works out very very cheap, something like 5-10 pounds per month extra over my normal insurance

I used to be with E&L but I heard quite a few negative feedbacks, so now I've been with Glover & Howe for a few years. They are very helpful and efficient (never had to claim anything yet though). I remember E&L's customer service was pretty poor.
