Why is the "C" 300 quid more to insure?

Pros and cons for both please!

Thanks

T has Targa panels in the roof. C is a coupe.

No idea why the C costs more to insure. I'd have thought they were the same - possibly slightly more for the T.

Nope. Although both were available as a red rose option. (RR gives you bigger brakes, a bit more power + a few other changes)

Desirability is a bit subjective. Other factors other than the roof may well be more important to a buyer.

Load of rubbish.

The right insurance company will probably charge the same for all recent model TVRs. Try A-Plan (TVRCC recommended insurer), or another who advertises in TVR circles.

i only got a quote off elephant because they are veyr competitive for young drivers where as A plan may not be

im only 23 and can insure a t350t for 1100 which i think is pritty fair tbh,

were they both the smae price on release? and released at same time

does anyone have an overhead view of the "t" with the roof on, i much prefer non sunroof cars but am open to both!

thanks for your help guys

Thats a nuts quote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you sure that every detail is right??? confused
Is that with limited miles or in parents name?
Elephant wouldn’t even touch me when I was looking for insurance.scratchchin
Im 25 and pay a lot more than that, irked no accidents (have got 6points though), 10K miles and live in the middle of now where. Have experiance with quick cars for the last four years.
A-plan are good and not to fussy about upgradesclap, come recomended from me. Alot of the special club insures won’t give you a quote because of your age (HIC, Heratige ect) +25 only.

Oh you want a ‘C’ those pannels spoil the perfect lines of the T350cool.

The "T" was £2k more new. You paid for the extra work in the roll cage and the panels. Later cars 04 onwards had a better roof catch design and panels were carbon fibre.

To jump in on this, im with Admiral at 25 was £800 fully comp 10k per yr on a 2000 tuscan, the Tuscan S was cheaper with them for some reason too. Think it goes on the stats for number of claims too, so less S's or T's mean lower risk? Anyway Admiral Elephant and Bell are all the same so try them all, oh and stick some old aunt down as named driver, knocked another £200 quid off my first quote! Not that she would ever get near the keys.

T may be £2000 dearer but it does give you that open top motoring option and is great if you need just a litte extra headroom.

yeah i used a older name driver in the policy, maxed out the excess (£1000) and live in a low crime postcode so am quite lucky.

Thanks for all your help guys, i must admit i like the "c" more will see what comes up!

I may get flamed for this, but be aware the T cars can get a bit of wind noise above 80mph.
Everyone will now jump in to defend their car and say its not a problem, but when i bought the T350C i had had test drives in several T cars as i liked the idea of the removal panels but the noise varied from bad to unbareable.
I even had one guy said that when fitted properly they are ok then proceeded to spend 15 minutes on a test drive trying to adjust them only to make the wind noise slightly less noticable.
I also know of others that have left the tvr fold because of the bad impression left buy the panels.

Not to mention it releases some of the heat soak from the engine with the panels removed.
So does opening the windows ! I can't see the T version offering any cooling advantages over the C version.

Nick I think you are quite right if not fitted correctly mine are noisy, even fitted correctly you can't really cruise at + 90 with them on without a noise. However it is bearable but irritable if you know what I mean!
I think some are better than others but open top driving is my favoured way, i only put the lids on if i have to wink
