Jesus!, the actuator has failed on my 05 Murci central locking (basically the central locking doesnt work so I have to use the key).

Anyway, as the 2 year warranty is up - when I bought the car in July it was supplied by HR Owen (Lambo Manchester/London) with their one year warranty (a rebadged AA Gold warranty with a £5k claim limit and £36ph max labour rate payable on work!)

I called them up today to see if this warranty covered the faulty part, and they confirmed that it is not covered!

The part cost £22 and labour to fit it is about 1.5hrs worth.

After parting with £149k for the car, this minor piece of work is going to cost me.

Pants!....I'll get Lambo HW to sort it and get my hands in my pocket then frown

Makes me think about getting back into Porsches where I got looked after properly....!

In my extended experience of Porsche Ownership, I would put money on them just doing the job without evening questioning it. I have always found the Porsche extended warranty (and associated goodwill) to be excellent

Don't know how recent your experience is (or perhaps were lucky enough to have a sympathetic OPC) but since the warranty underwriters were changed (about 18 months ago) they stick very strictly to what is specified in the warranty booklet and also uphold a "wear and tear" clause - it ain't the gold plated warranty it used to be.

Fair enough if its changed in recent times. I did have a bottom end engine rebuild on a 997C2S that I had on the extended OPC warranty earlier this year - and they covered off a few other niggle things under warranty whilst it was in too. Maybe the Service Technician fancied me smile

I'm sure they would, but can I be arsed grovelling for a £200 fix?!

A gesture from the off would have boxed it off frown
