Hi all, I have just purchased a 4.2 Cerb, when i collected it the battery was flat (no surprise) got it home went to re start but it just clicked but then ALL the door/ boot solinoids started to open/shut repeatedly and both windows rolled down.
I got power back on and this continued so in a panic i disconnected the door control module in the boot(this stopped the locking) but now i have no door open, boot open or window control! have checked all the fuses in the boot they seem OK (Is there another fuse box?)
Please help i have only driven it five miles and now its stuck in the garage!

Try the following: disconnect the battery, make sure that the battery is fully loaded, reconnect the battery and push the bottom on your fob till the alarm stops, takes sometimes 30 seconds , and miracally everything works fine. Hope you know how to get into the car in case of all doors and trunk are closed and nothing works.

I would go with Manfred's advice, as there have been many instances where a low battery has caused all sorts of issues. Hope thats all it is anyway so that you can start enjoying the thing! Welcome to the fold by the way!

... if you don't get anywhere - call Carl Baker (www.tvruk.tv) the definitive authority for all things electrical or alarm related (and thats probably selling him short!)

Hi thanks for the info, have already replaced the battery and armed/disarmed the alarm or do you have to press and hold the button?
Going to try the 'disconnect door module for half an hour' thing!!!
Will post tommorrow any results!!!!
Thanks again...

i think you need to shut the doors and boot, wind the windows up and then hold the fob down until the alarm sounds - release then press again to turrn off the alarm. Make sure battery is good.

and the previous owner what do they say?

Hi all, have spent all afternoon trying to fix the problem and have boiled it down to the door/window conrol box in the boot! does anybody know where i can get another one or who fixes these things?

I have tested all the solinoids and motors independantly and they all work ok but the green light on the overide button is on permamantly i fear the duff battery incident has spiked the control microchip.

Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks.
