If anybody needs a cam replacing or upgrades take it to Jamie at Castle Race Engines, I have just had mine back and cant believe the difference, they are very helpful for people like me who's knowledge of mechanics is zero everything carried out is first class and very reasonable on the wallet, I now have the big grin back and cant wait to get out there again.

Give Jamie a call at Castle Race engines get his number off the website, he put a piper cam in mine not sure which one, I have been down there today and had his own chip put in another improvement, also his leads are another upgrade I would go for, give him a call and he will sort out what you need doing.

CRE - Phone +44 (0)1327 831466

The home of Stonking 5ltr Race Engines....bounce

Jamie uses Piper cams, including some very special profiles for the racer...

he's got my chim engine in bits now as well, and were discussing head and cam combos on that...

oh and probably a mega squirt for the heck of it

G

Edited to say:- I've run CRE leads on the chim and the racer and not had any issues with rev counter bouncing.... One set did get a bit charred when I set fire to the car after a short trip into the tyre wall though !!!!

Yep...he did my 430 BV engine....a while back I guess I was one of his first customers when he set out on his own....engine still A1 banana, really pleased with it's behavior and performance.

He is a top bloke, and does what he says he will...and little more.

Must give him a call been a while since I have caught up with him....

In response to the bouncing rev needle yes it does, I am going back to Castle to have some other work done and Jamie is going to sort out the problem with the needle bouncing it only does it as you are cruising along not when accelerating hard, have you had the same.
