Free Remote Desktop Software

Can anyone recommend some remote desktop software that I can use on my XP Home Laptop to connect and control my Vista Home Premium desktop. I understand if I had XP Pro I could do it with Remote Desktop, but this is not the case.

I've looked at RealVNC, but the free version doesnt work with Vista according to the blurb on the site.

I only need it so I can get stuff done on the PC without sitting upstairs all the time and missing out on time with the wife and child. I had a go with Remote Assistance last night, and it worked, but it's not and ideal solution, too much running up and down the stairs to accept connections.

Would Vista HP support remote desktop if I had XP Pro on the lappy?

I did see the LogMeIn package in Google, but our internet is blocking it.

Remote desktop will work FROM an XP Home machine, just not TO an XP home machine

Ahhhh, so if I use a hack to make remote desktop (incoming) work on Vista HP then all should be well and good.

I second this. Use it all the time to access my home PC from customer sites and when on the move.
