Im not convinced about the claim that billet calipers are superior to forged.
The forging process instills a small amount of compressive set into the material: i.e. compressive stress, which offsets the tensile stresses encountered within the caliper body upon braking.
Also, forging causes the shape of the metal to change by making the grain flow, rather than cutting through the grain structure like machining does.
Thats why your spanners say "drop forged", not "CNC machined".
