javascript: opengallery01()

http://www.sportmotive.com/galleryt.html

Would I get lynched?

I'm about to find out! Mine's being done as we speak (type!) at Sportmotive. I'll post some pic's when I get it back. If you can't wait, check out Argoose's profile - that's where I saw it first & was blown away with the style!

I like it. It gives the car a more aggresive edge in my opinion.
What are the cost to perform such a change?

It was advertised in this months sprint at £1800, pretty good me thinks! I wonder what it would look like in starmist green!

Really only £1800? Is that the full cost, including respray etc?

Yup £1800 plus VAT including front respray etc.
Front respray without light conversion is only £750.
The first example I saw of it is for sale, looks mint, shame they didn't update the rear lights whilst at it. If I were looking for a new Chim I would certainly be considering this one though.

I like it. It is certainly an improvment on the original Chim front. There is a guy on here from Hong Kong who has had it done to his.

That being said though, I do prefer the nose of the facelifted Chim with the faired in headlights over the T350 makeover.
Fibreon (http://www.damagedtvrs.co.uk/) can make the pods to fit 2001 style headlights to an older Chimaera for £ 150.00 + vat per pair. I have mailed TVR Power about the availability of lens covers and lamps (if they have changed) but haven't received any answer. Does anyone know of an alternate supplier?

confused What exactly is the "intake" / gap under the light fairing at the front edge for?

Much better, in fact. This looks better than the original, whereas the Tuscan conversions look worse. The front end of the Chimaera is already too "busy" and the Tuscan conversions make it look worse.

Me too. I wonder if they can do this conversion without them?

So...

Thats a more positive response than I expected. I think it will definitely be a niche market in terms of resale - but to be honest I don't think its a great idea buying a tiv in the first place if your doing it as an investment?!?!?!?

Just for good measure while we are here... I like the look of the t350 conversion on the older front end models, but i prefer the newer style light clusters. How much does a rear light conversion cost from the old fordies to the newer ones?

(sorry about the questions but I'm budgeting for the whole project at the moment and am slightly lacking in knowledge)

I think it looks really good except they should have filled in the old indicator recesses, looks a bit too fussy around there now.

Hi guys, thanks for all of your positive comments on the T350 conversion we do. In response to some of your questions, the vent under the lamps is copied from the T350 and is part of the replacement lamp pod that we fit. Angus who owns the black car wanted these left in along with the original indicator holes but its entirely the customers decision we can do whatever you prefer, holes can be removed and blended in as required. On his car we completely removed the original indicators from the lower holes and replaced them with grilles to match the centre grille, we also "lost" the door push buttons in the rear quarters and installed under mirror push button door opening.
We are currently doing a mk2 Chimaera with the centre bar across the mouth and the smaller lower indicator holes which we are retaining and leaving the indicators in which we think will work really well, again the customer's decision ( thanks Mick ) but again we can do whatever you want, we can also do the rear lamp upgrade using Fibreon's replacement pods.
Cheers Ian.

Hello Ola

Can you please post what you found out about the lenses. I would also be interested in a pair if they are not too expensive.

Cheers Jens
