TopCats have 2 places left at Donington on the 29th July. The Day operates from 9/9.30am until 5/5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch, so maximum driving time. £250.00+VAT per head based on 4 drivers sharing equally. All inclusive day (ie. car hire, instruction with intercom radio, insurance, track fees, team support)

Some of usual questions answered:

If car is damaged by someone coming off its end of day.
If it breaks in morning with mechanical failure we will organise another free day.
If it breaks late afternoon then that's that. (So far 20 trackdays with all the cars and not had one break but people have to remember they are performance cars and one day we will get a breakage)

Car: Caterham 7 'K' Series 1.4, still race specification and on race tyres - superb handling and condition.

To take your car on a track day will cost a lot more, given your track day fee, your track day insurance, petrol, wear on brakes/tyres etc. + about a £1 per min for instruction. The cost isn't as high as you think given all of the above !! URL and contact details can be got by e-mailing me via my profile.

And you point is.... at £293.75 per driver inc. VAT the 4 drivers totals £1,175.00 still cheaper than the £1,200 is would cost for 4 drivers at the price you quote.

4 drivers in either car would get the same track time so the TopCats option works out cheaper anyway you cut it

If you mean to point out that this is good value then thanks otherwise WTF?....

Not quite!

£600 is for the full use of the car for the day with the cost of the track day included - whether 1 or 2 drivers.

Assuming an open pitlane day, rather than 3x20 min sessions...

With 1 driver it costs £75 per hour for 8 hours.

With 2 drivers it is still £75 per hour but they both get only 4 hours each.

With 4 drivers you get two hours each, but the rate is still £75 per hour!

In your case the total cost is £150 per hour!

Therefore...
BookaTrack = £600 ÷ 4 = £150 per person.
TopCats = £1175 ÷ 4 = £293 per person

However, if you want to go on a sessioned day then you need to add 2 x £150 extra for the extra two sessions:

BookaTrack = £900 ÷ 4 = £225 per person.

-----------------------------------------------------

BTW I totally agree about this being the way to go to save your own car - and it usally ends up costing less as well.

My last outing in the M5 cost over £700 as I had to replace two tyres (£350), insurance (£150), track day (£150), fuel (£100) - though I did do 160 track miles.

OH my gawd !!!!!!!!! £700 though from the look of some of the pics on your site it looks like you'd have one big on your face at the end of it all !!

Yup, it's hoooge fun . . . right up until you face the £700 bill - and even then you can have fun when you tell the local tyre how you need another two tyres less than a month after the last pair

Don't forget that bthe TopCats day includes full time professional instruction which could otherwise cost you upwards of 30 quid an hour.

Fine, I'll take it without the instruction and subtract £240 off the total then

Still equals £1000 vs £900 for four people (BTW the BookaTrack one offers only 20 minutes instruction per driver).

BTW I wasn't trying to show that the TopCats one was overpriced or anything - I was simply trying to show that there were other (sometimes, but not always cheaper) options!

Edited to fix some spelling errors!

Anyone up for the last 2 places? as m-five says it's a hell of a lot cheaper than hammering your own car and as jeremyc says you'll get instruction/encouragement from Charlotte Osborn on the day - Charlotte has just come from a 2nd place finish at the Wilhire 9hr, her fastest lap less than 2 10ths off the fastest lap of the race.

Drop me a mail via my profile for any more info, happy to answer any Q's you might have.....
