Yes- 13/14th September. Car show both days with track day on Sunday. Well worth a visit for spares suppliers. If you're interested in kit cars in general it's the show where the manufacturers try to sell their new models for the winter build market. It's a great place to pick up an end of season bargain in the used cars for sale compound. Lots of people trying to offload cars to finance their next project. Also attracts part-builts at reasonable prices. Camping facilities consist of a large field with super views over countryside and a toilet trailer in one corner. It's alongside the West Midlands Airport so only expect sleep between midnight and 6am!!!

I was hoping to go and have a go around the track but ive smashed my axel again. Does anyone know anybody who is selling an american ford 9" axel, as i know this with the right parts will last as i know people who come racing put around 1350bhp yes 1350 through these axels. P.S. i did run my quickest time though its amasing what a shot of gas does: Standing 1/4 mile: 12.2@109mph with a 0-60 time of about 3.5 seconds. the same as a lambagini diablo. But they dont break..

Here is some info on the show at Donington (13th and 14th September).
Kit car drivers will be charged £2 to enter the event with their passengers paying £8.
If you have pre booked to go on the track then entry to the show is free.
We have got a stand for 10 vehicles this year. If last year is any thing to go by we can fit in more. Lets have a big turn out so we can take over more space. (rather than like last year when we were getting squeezed in to a smaller space by other clubs such as the Quantums).
The Jago stand is somewhere on the square of grass just as you enter the show according to Limelight Exhibitions. Hopefully there will be a sign post as last year hammered into the ground.
As in previous years the track is available on the Sunday for owners to drive their vehicles around.
Booking to go on the track is best done in advance by ringing Limelight on 01737 225857 or 07768 031329.
The cost is £185 per day with passengers charged at £20 each (minimum age of passengers 16 years)If you have extra drivers they cost £30 per day.
Naturally it is first come first served. If you book a slot you can go out for 20 minutes every hour (about 10 laps)
A note by Limelight is that the Marshalls do take a lunch break around 12 noon.
The track is open from 9am to 5pm, crash helmets must be worn (take your own as last year they were not supplying any on the track). Remember no skid lid no track driving. Also you will have to show them your drivers licence.
If you are going on the track you must attend the mandatory Instructor's briefing which is at 8.30am.
Vehicles must be road legal and noise levels have been set at 98 decibels drive by and 102 decibels static.
If slots are available then these will be offered on the day at £25 per session again with any passengers paying £5 each.
Camping (as far as I am aware) is available. Last year I think it was free but currently I do not have any further information.
Tin top drivers pay the following Adults £10, Children £6 (under 14 otherwise adult price), Senior Citizens £7 and to conclude a family ticket is £25 (this being two adults and two children).
As the show opens to the public at 9.30am both days exhibitors need to be in place by 9am at the latest.

I guess if people don't go, others won't go.
I've lost count of the events that I've attended down the years that have been adequately advertised in club mags and suchlike where I've been the only person there in a Lotus/TVR/Matra/Lancia/Jago whatever. I wrote an article for Transmissions last year detailing all the events I had been to and have promoted them on this forum as their respective dates have approached this year. Zero result as far as I can see. I don't blame anyone as we're all individuals and can make up our own minds what we spend our fuel money on. I enjoy going to certain car shows and will continue to do so. However, it will be with low expectations as far as meeting other Jago owners is concerned (excepting Stoneleigh as mentioned above).

Yes I understand what are talking about, and it is people's choice.
But like myself I had other commitmets, my job, my AS levels and other matters and although I would have loved to go I cant get the bloody car started on its own wiring.
This is the case with other people, which I am sure you are aware of. If you want to get around this disappointment put on the forum some where Who's Going and people who are going add their name. This way you are not expecting to see some of the 80 when you could possibly see 20.
So please don't get annoyed as other people may have more pressing engagements that to go and look at cars for the weekend, like myself.

I feel a little guilty about my efforts in calling at the club stand on sunday!
I called at the stand later in the afternoon and by then noeone was anywhere to be seen (and rightly so) - who wants to stand around all weekend waiting for us to pay them a visit. Chris should take the time to enjoy the shows himself.
While i was at the show i got to thinking that maybe there are fewer and fewer club members prepared to travel because their Geeps are becoming less and less reliable - old age and all that? Mine is undergoing a major rebuild (even the chassis is rotten).
Perhaps some active participation from Andy Belfield may stir things up a little - just a thought.
Finally, we may make comments on this forum but how many of the current membership know how upset/worried some are for the future of the club?

The last show I have got listed is The Great Western Kit and Sports Car Show at Devon County Showground Exeter on November 15th & 16th.
We will not be attending as it is to far for us. Whether any Jago members from around that area will be going I do not know.
The next show (which is the first show of the year) is in March at Stafford County Showground.
In the mean time check out the adverts on www.transmissionsonline.org.uk as there are some Jago's going for reasonable money.
