that thing's just silly.

if you want 0-60 in 4 s from an electric car and still have a modicum of style, check out this:
www.acpropulsion.com/tzero_pages/tzero_home.htm
only about $70,000!

Except that...if it doesn't have the Good v8 on it and doesn't Popping and Banging like a Cerbera it doesn't worth to drive it!

Security is the word here, you can hide it on the book shelf.

I like this car, its is a halfway house between bike and car.

I could definately drive one of these although I would be concerned about the stability. A bike leans, a car uses low centre of gravity and a wide track. I presume its the batteries that are stopping this from tipping. The video looks fun but it is hard to judge due to cr@p video quality on how fast the car is actually going around those corners.

I do wish they would stop calling them "environmentally friendly and zero emissions" though as the electricity neede to move this thing is gerated at a power station which is neither "environmentally friendly" nor "zero emission" Also 80 miles isn't that far, good for a commuter but they would need another car.

If you choose to ignore such generation sources as hydro and wind power, no they are not "zero emission". Power stations do however pollute the environment, on average, to a much lesser extent 'pound for pound' of primary fuel than cars in general. Their impact on the environment is both licensed to controlled levels and monitored on a regular basis. Compare that with an annual MOT; and just how often have you followed an old banger, petrol or diesel and choked on its fumes?

I grant you that this is a complex subject that requires a study of all the various pollutants involved and a consideration of the differing fuel types burnt in Power Stations to reach an 'average' figure per kWh of energy produced.
I suggest that a more realistic quote would make reference to the overall energy cycle in a battery powered car being environmentally friendly when compared to other direct forms of motive power.

This all assumes of course that you subscribe to the idea that electricity is available when you press the switch and that you prefer to be able to run your car on your fuel of choice - dangerous green ground for petrolheads?

Not saying power stations are environmentaly friendy but Emission considerations are easier to deal with at a localised source I think ( such as a power station ).

This is true, but the comment I don't like is ZERO emissions and environmentally friendly as if driving this car you are doing your bit for the environment and being "green". If you you REALLY want to be environmentally friendly walk!!

Very good - very good indeed!!!!!
Problem though; a man walks, then he sweats, and God knows what else. Not envirofriendly at all...

Best try that F1 ecotank milk float and see what happens.

Why not put all the running gear into a fiesta/clio size car? Okay you'd lose the 0-60 in four but you would get hot-hatch rivalling performance and the ability to hold your head up in public!
However I did see the performance tests were with 'comparable' cars. My Starlet GT has a 1300 turbo. The Brabham-BMW had a 1500 turbo and put out 1500 bhp for qualifying. Does my starlet produce 1300 bhp?;-)

It's only 0-60 under 4 seconds on a dragstrip with full slicks... not enough rubber and not light enough to do in road trim! So that statistic is a bit bollocks really...

Just had a look at that Tzero website. If you think the future is bleak and boring and we are all going to end up driving F-1 racing wardrobes instead of sports cars, I suggest you take a look. P.S. I agree about the hot hatch conversion - at least then it wouldn't look like it was going to fall over. Bond bug for 2002?
