Hi. Ive just SWORN my Robin Hood and keeping it in a barn somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I would like to insure it againest fire and theft. However, when I contacted my insurance company, they wanted to hike up my premium.

Anyone here know why that might be and can anyone suggest who might be able to offer me a good quote for just keeping it in a barn for 6 months?

Thanks,

grumpy

You filthy beast. Now go and say 5 Hail Marys.

BTW. Don't forget to fill in a SORN declaration if you are not going to tax your car for a while.

Premiums for Fire & Theft cover only are normally very low, and only based on the value of the car.

However; if your company perceives that a greater risk of theft is present due to the location of the barn (ie if it's away from anywhere, not overlooked, not visited on a daily basis) then they may have applied an increased theft loading.
