Does anyone know if there is a simple change for the inbuilt radio/cassette in the GTV to a CD player?

If you are talking about the more modern GTV, you can get a surround to enable fitment of any din unit, I got a black one off ebay and sprayed it silver. I fitted one with an sd card slot as well as a single CD and it works fine. There is a wee shelf in the lh front corner of the boot that is ideal for a changer if you want one.

Thanks, guess I'm looking for a new unit. Thanks for the tip about the boot.

Just to confirm - are we talking about the most recent (916-series) GTV?

If so, the phase-2 and -3 cars came with a CD changer as standard.

I don't think the phase-1 cars did, but as noted, the slot in the dash is a standard 1-DIN job, so pretty much anything will fit.
On the subject of the phase-1 cars, the handy "shelf" in the boot isn't exposed be default; it's hidden behind the boot lining on the left as you look into the boot. Phase-2 and -3 cars have it exposed as standard.

It's a JVC with a touch screen panel but I cannot remember what sort and it is in the car and I am on an oil platform so I can't check, sorry.

Phase one is up to 1998, they have black unpainted side skirts and no chrome grill around the bonnet "heart" and badge.

Phase two have the above mentioned bits but also a brushed aluminium dash surround.

And phase III has the god-awful nose grafted on to it and the number plate shifted over to accommodate it.

I could be wrong, or it may have been a dealer-fit option?

My 2001 V6 lusso does not have a CD changer, maybe a previous owner removed it.
