Hi All

I had a good day on my mates rolling road yesterday. I have fitted a new supercharger pulley to give me about 1 bar boost. I am also now running bigger 65lb injectors.
Under heavy load at around 3,000rpm we were getting some good flames. You can see the silencers were glowing red.

Enjoy the short video.

I hope to run the car on another dyno next month,to finish mapping for now and come up with some new HP figures.

Regards Dave

Dave, looks really good and I liked the dubbing. On a different note though doesn't that show a lot of backpressure with those cans. Both end walls are glowing as the exhaust bounces for and aft. Maybe something more straight through would be better if you can muffle it somehow. Could be scary fun for those behind smile

Hi Mike

Your not wrong about the cans! It highlighted the problem very well. The exhaust is something I will look into over the winter. I have thought of maybe one bigger silencer with a crossover inside. On the dyno my mate came across something new for him, the speed of the car was increasing while trying to map one point. He then realised the dyno was at its full 600lb/ft of torque. The engine was at about 3,000rpm. Once he went up a gear it was OK. The dyno can only take 300HP at the wheels which we hit at about 3,500rpm. The tools on the rear shelf behind the dyno were nice and warm to the touch. biggrin

Regards Dave

PS I have my mate Gary to thank for editing the video for me.

Hi Dave

My camcoated headers were also glowing red! I had them coated inside and out. I did not have the cans done thinking I may change them at some point. As said above I was holding full load for some time. I don't think they would ever get that hot on the road or track. I will see if they have become a restriction after my dyno session next month.

Hi Kyle

It couldn't have gone better mate! The car didn't miss a beat. We spent about 3 hours mapping and drinking coffee. I found out what the fuel pressure problem was from the last session. The pressure transducer was getting too hot and giving a false reading. Speak to you soon.

Hi Chris

Intake temps are fine! On my last datalog in the sunshine I didn't see higher than 29°C. I did have an issue with where the sensor was mounted in the manifold, so I am fitting a new one above the throttle plates. Still to do that before the next dyno session.

I have not yet maxed out the D1SC. The old pulley spun it to 47,000rpm. The latest will give me 53,000rpm (about 1 bar). I still have one waiting in the wings which will give me 60,000rpm (about 1.2 bar). They are all at 6,500rpm engine speed. D1SC maxes at 63,000rpm.

Regards Dave
