964 90' RS look
Discussion
Browsing Autotrader Yesterday, came across this again.
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/PORS...

Had a quick search here as I recall a thread devoted to it back in the Summer,
Somebody on here posted its details with a view to sticking on some Carrera decals etc, since its apparently not sold
what do we thinks wrong with it

I'm not sure where this car even starts to have the "RS look" apart from being a 964 shaped 911...
...wrong rear bumper, wrong wheels, wrong mirrors, wrong front bumper, totally wrong interior - seats, rear seats, door panels, steering wheel, rear wiper, monster-truck ride height, etc, etc...
Maybe the vendor isn't familiar with the RS?

Allow me.
Went to see it on my whirlwind quest for a 964. For a nano sec I thought that for 10K it might make a rather interesting, if tongue in cheek, 964 version of this:

....by adding black cups (not Fuchs like the rather clumsy paintshop here shows) and a Carrera decal:

Thought better of it though. Would have made a giggle on the track if you ripped it all out inside.
Here are some more.....

no sorry,
whats the story then,
I'm surprised frankly at that price somebody hasn't been and picked it up, it would make someone happy for a bit
does it look that bad up close, dodgy repair?

It was white. It's been RSed about with in terms of colour, got no undertray, decent interior, nice dials, horrid wheels, OE calipers (yep ickle single rears). But hey, it drove ok.
Gotta be worth an inspection????
Chap is nice, seems genuine. Just one too many cars for him.
Dunno I'm new to all this so I couldn't spot a dog if came up and dropped it's engine cradle on me ....

Whoops!!

I guess the colour isn't to everyones taste and might make people wonder why it's been resprayed since the rest of the car doesn't appear to have had a fortune thrown at it. I guess it's easier to find a bit more money for a "straight" standard car.
The RS moniker in this instance is risisble; It's nothing like ab RS in appearance and even if it were I think the market for all show no go 964s must be quite small.
Then again even if it were an exact replica of an RS in every detail the purist would still look down their noses at it.
Still, someone could have plenty of fun for little money here.
