i know its old hat! i have a standard 3.5 producing 220bhp by means of twin plenum where do i go for more

A standard 3.5 making 220, is decent enough. Have you actually tested this, or are you just assuming ?

Heads, cams, intake, exhaust etc etc.

If this is on the original flapper system then ditch that for some coil packs and an Emerald ECU that'll pick up another 8-10Bhp and lots of extra driveability, then change the cam for something a bit wilder, so losing your new driveability back to where it is now but with more power.

Don't forget to add more CR if the cam is going longer on duration

not to sure ditching the flapper system is best as the metering unit is from a lotus sd1 breed, 76mm instead of the 64mm.

You'll pick up power from controlling the spark properly and even it the metering flap is bigger than normal its still very old hat and can be put in the bin and use a MAP sensor or throttle angle for load sensing instead.
