Water Temperature Sensor

When I was wiring up my engine at the weekend when I discovered a problem with my water temperature sensor. It is a 3/8" NPTF VDO sensor for the std Ultima instruments. Unfortunately all of the water temperature bungs (one on each head, the water pump and water outlet) on my engine seem to be 1/2" BSP (they screw cleanly into a 1/2" BSP hole anyway). The engine is from American Speed and has Edelbrock heads. Has anyone else had this problem?

You need a little adapter. I expect the factory can frovide you with one or you can go to somewere like speedflow.

You may also find the same problem with the oil pressure sender and the location of both may need a little thought.

Thanks for the help. The oil pressure sensor is OK. It came with an adapter that fitted onto the block with no problems. Looking at the build CD it is obvious that the temp sensor can just fit into some heads without any adapter.
