Which Coil ?

I recently replaced my knackered coil with a Lucas DLB125 coil (no ballast resistor) and it is fine, but I have been keeping an eye out for another as a spare but have not seen any or the equivalents since...
I see loads of Lucas "Sports" coil DLB105 listed as suitable for all makes... claims better sparks etc and they are available quite cheaply too.

Has anyone any experiences of this coil as fitted to a 2.9 V6 (no cats) that they would like to share... ? good or bad...

unfortunately I have no knowledge of either

A DLB105 could be used for either I suppose...

but at my age I'm primarily interested in its car application...

also bear in mind that there are two methods... one needs to have the sharp edges removed first and the other just relies on being kept firmly between the knees

So, anyone any advice on a DLB105 (which I have bought now...

ketvrin - how did you get on with the DBL105 coil? Thinking mine needs replacing as getting misfire on hot days after about an hour of driving (changed TP as well). Suspect underbonnet temps may be causing my current coil to fail. Seems the 105 is available at cheap price at the moment.

I have to confess that I have not used it yet (either for the car or as a contraceptive) I did get a DLB125 and fitted that and have kept the DLB105 as a spare - I suppose I should test it otherwise its not much good as a spare...

ah well - thanks anyway. I take it the DLB125 works well? I've got a non-ballasted (12V) system.

Yes same here and yes the DLB125 works well... but now that I've said it...

One DLB125 received this morning. Cost £34.66 (inc P&P) from Leacy MG Ltd.
Now to install and test it

Motorcraft 1027283
Demon Tweeks 40111
and the Lucas one mentioned

Any experience on these others?

I looked for the Demon Tweeks one but couldn't see it on their web site so went for the tried and tested Lucas option in the end! I would guess the Motorcraft one would be a safe bet as well if not a bit more expensive.
