Discussion
Ohhh...nooooo!
Well tonite I thought..."go for it keith, lets make some milage and fit those Tanks!"
So...Side pod moulding off.....prefit tanks..and.......Whaaa!....The pod don't fit....
...ahh
Just need to gently slide the tank forward so.....NAAAHH!
The damn COOLANT PIPE bend IS IN THE WAY...Nooooo!

Looked ok when I fitted them, so have they grown? No.
Looks like they should have been shiftied back till the bend is closer to the chassis upright....and the damn side bins have been final fitted...Can't remember any warnings on this one!
Yup I know what I have to do...both sides...but heck guys..Not that pain again.
...anyone got a good idea??????
Pleeeeese???

Hi Keith,
I am just at the same stage. Luckily I noticed the problem before final fitting the pods. You may be able to shuffle the pipes down towards the rad with the containers in place. I had to cut down the RH pipe as it was getting too close to the rad. I now have a 6" length of silicon pipe to fix them together.
If you twist them, you should be able to free the silcaflex joint to move the pipes... Also if you have a right angle drill, you can just drill off the brackets holding the pipes to be able to move them if you need to.
Agree that there is nothing in the build manual about this. I looked at other build sites to get an idea of where they should roughly be...
Good luck!

Had to do the very same thing when I spent a couple of days doing the body prefit with Paul-B. Tanks had to go forward and so did the pipe on the nearside.
Drill out the rivets from the clamps and hope you can gently break it free from any sealant that has been applied. Don't forget to free off the hose clips to the rad. You may have to 'cheese-wire' the sealant.

Just to clarify. I had not fitted said coolant pipe
Thanks again Steve. The wife is very happy to have the lounge back now the body work has gone onto the car. I haven't had the heart to explain "pre-fit"
