gearbox SD1 or T5

so if the reverse gear is oposite 5th gear its a T5 box and if reverse is next to 1st gear it a SD1 box , i have a 94 4.0 that seems to have a T5 box ,with a nice feel to it and a big round hole in the bottom of the bellhousing ( strange)....

Think that's normal, mine has a big hole underneath aswell

I think they can have a rubber seal in that hole - but no-one seems to bother. There was a reason that made sense but I can't recall it.

Gives a whole new meaning to 'gravel trap' eh?!
