I understand that a decision will be made soon. The WRC will evaluate the experience of this year and decide. I personally thought it was a huge success. There were problems for spectators but the WRC will not take that into consideration, they will only look at it from the competitors viewpoint.

It is many years since I went to a WRC event and I was very impressed with (a) the stages, (b) the helpfulness of the police both in Northern Ireland and the Republic, (c) the friendliness of the Irish from both sides of the border. The only downside was the Super Special at Stormont which I thought was a complete rip-off!

Never-the-less I will be back in 2009 if they get the nod.

The best run rallies of 2007 & 2008 will form a definitive programme of rallies going forward from 2009. HOPEFULLY, this will include Rally Ireland!
