Looking at the classifieds, seeing a few at £94k+. Bearing in mind they are £76k+ extras, a well specced car is about £85k to £90k.

Dealer told me they are getting £10k to £15k premium - but it doesn't look that way to me.

This might change when the V10 comes out

Not really, the demand has slowed. A realistic premium is currently 5k and dealers are making their money on the finance.

5k may be realistic but i saw on at 94k when list was more likely 80k about 4 weeks ago. I expect the V10 to have a premium not unlike the V8 had for its first months or two purely because it will be very desirable from a performance perspective and the gallardo will end up taking a back seat.

Present demand for the R8 is less but they still get a premium as they are not too easily available on short notice due to long waiting lists.

Just seen one for sale in Autocar classifieds for £101K. Impressive spec by all accounts, but would like to know what colour the sky is in their world

Slough/Aston Green Audi were offering 2 November delivery cars at 5k premiums on cancelled orders about 3 weeks ago; I think the central London lot are asking larger premiums but from what I've heard people are actually signing at a little either side of 5.

People are going to take a 50k bath on these over the next couple of years. The V10, then the RS8 will kick V8 residuals into touch!

Realistically, you're looking at a few £k over for a really good spec. Tom Hartley's, complete with customary piss take price tag (why does anyone buy a car from that man ?), have been stuck for weeks.

It's only money. I predict they'll hold their value about like a 911, given the history of residuals of the RS6 and RS4, so only those people who've really paid over the odds will suffer disproportionately. Don't tell the missus if I'm wrong paperbag.

I lived it Sweden when the Bi turbo RS4 came out , a local Audi dealer had one in stock which it was inviting the highest bid-offer on so i guess they can frown

I know of an audi dealer who is selling their demonstrator at list regardless of mileage.

The V8 will certainly drop in value when the V10 arrives as many of the current owners are on the list so quite a few will be made available.

However as long as Audi do not try to kill the golden goose by over supply, given that the current factory is not capable of building more than 22 a day this is not likely, then the idea that this car will be worth a 3rd of its value in a couple of years is verging on the ridiculous

Took a visit to Romans International last week and very interested in a swap of my R8 for a GT3 RS they had in the showroom.
On the figures offered for mine to change, premiums are still the norm at the moment, but clearly spec does play a part in this.
Only 180 R8's have been delivered here so far and I'm told only another 200 will come to the UK next year. That will keep residuals high, regardless of newer models being in the pipeline.
It is also a cracking good car to drive, and (can't believe I'm even saying this) better in a number of ways than my previous excellent Carrera S. This will also keep it's value up.
Only shame of the whole event was some bugger got in over the weekend with a deposit on the GT3 RS!!
