What a dealer is willing to pay is very different to what the car is worth/what they should pay. They will probably have the car sitting on their forecourt until the spring now so they'll knock you down a bit more than usual to cover their costs (for example the borrow the money from the bank sometimes too). I guesstimate they normally (when the market is better than it is now) mark up 4-5k per car (costs them a few bob for a warranty and a nose job etc. if they bother so 3k profit).
Guy elsewhere on Pistonheads got 9k for his pre-cat Griffith and the dealer have it up for 15k.
Maybe you should look at trying to sell privately
I think some dealers work on a commission basis which means you'll get a better price, but you own the car until it is sold.
