I collected my car from the detailers and it was pointed out to me that I had a scuffed rim. It's not that bad and right on the edge of the rim. There are no flat spots, but it's enough for me to want to get it done. I've no idea how it happened and I'm racking my brains to think of an occasion where it may have occurred. Anyway, that aside, are there any off the shelf kits that will repair things like this, or am I best off getting it done professionally?

I can post pics tomorrow (when there's some light) if that will make any difference to the advice given.

(Here's a pic of the type of wheel. Not my actual rim.)

any good bodyshop would be able to do a localised blow in and not even paint the whole rim, very easy to do indeed and should be around £50ish pounds
