Mike,
Go out and book yourself a test drive in one, a Carrera 4 or similar. You'll find that they drive very well (very planted compared to the Cerb, although maybe not yours) and are particularly good fun on the roads that the Cerb isn't (mainly B roads). But whilst they are quick they are not Cerb quick so you may feel a liitle dissapointed, I certainly was and after a while I got frustrated by it's lack of umph and found myself constantly dropping a gear and flooring it to make it go. For a comparison my remapped 335d is quicker. Nice looking car, well built but disappointing fairly dated interior and switch gear let it down along with it's performance. A GT2 / GT3 or turbo would be a different proposition, but these are a few more pounds.
Jules.

IME that should do it. Every Porsche I've ever driven (2.7SC, 3.0 Carrera, 996 Turbo, Boxster S) has completely missed the point of what, IMO, a sports/fun car should be. Fast Mondeos. Nothing more.
I've never liked Porkers and when I finally drove a 911 it just backed up what I thought all along.
I find the porsche form on here a real turn off. It seems to be mainly people either having a go because of the slightest difference between the cars.
Or when any technical questions are asked the general reply seems to be 'if you don't have enough money to take it into a dealer, you shouldn't own one'. You won't find a single decent 'how to'.
Although understandably all forums are partisan, the porsche one seems to be mixed with quite a lot of bubbling snobbery.
I'm sure there are enthusiast forum for porsche like the TVR ones here, it just that pistonheads isn't it.
