Has anyone,or know of anyone who has had a reflex/flip paint on a chimp or griff. Mine is going in next week, so it's time to get the colour sorted. I don't want to get this bit wrong as some of the paints are £250 a litre.
Cheers

Theres a Chim that I know of in Desert Moondust which is as close as you can get to a reflex without it being a reflex.

No problem with it though, paint is paint and if your bodyshop have used it before I see no issues.

My Chim is in at Ewelme Coachworks as we speak for a total colour change respray.
The car was originally Cureton Green and its being changed to Halcyon Atlantis Blue.

This colour is superb, as it completely changes to Green is different light.
It was a good alternative to Reflex which i found to be extortionate in price.

And if you don't mind me asking how much is a complete colour change?
Or anyone have a rough idea for a same colour respray, everytime I look at the car in detail I find a new scratch,

Same colour is around £1800 plusvat and a colour change to more expensive paint is around £2500 plusvat depending on other work needed.

Jon at Ewelme sent me some pixs last night of my car about to go into the oven and it looks soooo sad...lol.
But, they appear to be doing a sterling job though.

I guess you get what you pay for at the end of the day!

I thought desert moondust was a reflex or chameleon paint? If it's a metallic, I might be interested. Can anyone confirm or deny this astonishing rumour from plotloss?

The reflex colours are nice, but £2k for paint is a lot of dosh!

Lastly, anyone got any pictures of cars in desert moondust?

Pictures really can't do this colour justice, it's a purple to gold flip

Nice colour (nearly as nice as Starmist Blue) - it reminds me (in a nice way) of the Car you get as one of the pieces in the De-Luxe version of Monopoly.

Don't worry if it doesn't ring the same bells with you, I am on some extremely strong medication

I've seem this colour in the flesh at Fernhursts. quite amazing it is too it also has undertones of yellow and green in it.
I just stood looking at it from all angles for about 20 mins but still could not decide if I was brave enough to own that colour on a Chimaera - Tuscan for sure - Chimaera, I'd need some persuading.
I still think Starmist Blue is best on a Chimaera too though.

The bill is going to be around £3000 but there is some glass work to sort out and the rear lights are being changed to pods
I saw a tuscan in Bedford, this is going back a few months, in the same flip paint. Looks superb.
Has anybody got any more pictures?

just a small piece of personal experience, you get what you pay for with reflex paint.cheaper ones tend to look patchy at some angles[as do badly applied expensive ones].great on an old nova but a disaster on a tvr

If you do a search on 'Desert Moondust' within the TVR forums there is a thread with links to a Chimaera with this colour (Front, rear and side profiles). What I would like to see is 'Azure Fire Prizm' which on the colour cards looks as good as it sounds!

BTW Anyone know the difference between Cascade Copper, Reflex Spice and Desert Moondust?

AFAIK they're the same colour. I think with the Tuscan at the 98 motorshow it was called Desert Moondust. Then in about 2000 they introduced the 'Reflex' colours and renamed it Reflex Spice, and now it's called Cascade Copper?

Well I went from a bright 'Pear Yellow chim' to a new Tuscan S in Cascade Copper (see profile...)...not sure if it would look cool on a chim though
