slack in the transmission
Discussion
An ever so slight hesitation when you feather the throttle in traffic, then it jerks into life, if your not delicate you can end up kangerooing? Keep the revs up when setting off its fine and it sonly noticable at crawling speeds.
I've had this on lots of cars and always called it "a bit a slack in the transmission", its nothing major to live with but what is it? Worn UJ's? I know its nothing to do with fuelling etc, purely mechanical I reckon.
any ideas?Cheers Grant

If you have a light car and a sensitive throttle then you can get teh kangaroo effect and the kangarooing causes you to move your throttle foot. This was a real problem on my Westfield and I do have the same problem in my S on my rough drive. One trick is to push the foot against the side of the foot well to keep it steady and see if this reduces the effect.
Didn't you have issues with clutch judder though? I'm just wondering if this still part of the problem because you mention that if you keep the revs up when pulling away that it is ok. As I mentioned back then I had this issue but a clutch burning session fixed it.

Yes you're right, well spotted. I did wonder if it is related. I've just come back from a drive I've probably built it up in my mind, its def there but I can live with it for now. I dare not try clutch burning as from what I can tell its still running the original clutch-so its just a matter of time anyway @ 45k I reckon another 15-20k max?Didn't you have issues with clutch judder though?
