Saw this thread in the General Gassin section.

It inspired me to do a few shots myself, so here they are...

Nice - particularly like the colour matching of the highlights on the Lambo. If I was being picky, I'd probably want to soften the bushes on the right of the Ferrari shot - they look sharper than the car.

Did they take long? Where did you get the backgrounds? Would you do all that work for £100?

Great job! I love the F40 shot.
If I had to be picky, i think the background on the f40 shot needs to be rotated clockwise a touch.

Took about half an hour each, so damm right. I'd do it for much less to be honest.

I got the images for the background from the net. I just searched environments i thought would be fitting.

Nice work! Did you take the original photos of the cars yourself?

Yeah, i took them at knockhill a few yers ago.

Hawkaye, yeah i'd have to be a little more creative if i wanted to sell them, but these were just quickies.

Here's a quick fix on the F40.

I find the magnetic lasso (at high magnification) along with an appropriate amount of feathering (which depends on the size of the image) to be the best technique.

that lasso does my head in! I tend to use the quick mask hi mag route but might try the lasso again. Quick question, if it creats a point you dont want how do you delete the point?

They are great! Love the F40 one.

I tried something similar a while back.... 30mins - 1hr sounds about right.

(ETA: Being a real pedant... would the road backdrop in the Ferrari one benefit from being flipped mirror effect.... so it would look like just one hilltop road, rather than two?)

Watching the studio guys at work earlier cutting things out they were very speedy and very accurate with the pen tool. Having seen them at work I now know it's worth a bit of practice with.
