Hi there. Have just joined the site (some great stuff on here!) and need some help if possible.

I own a 330ci Clubsport and I think that I am being quoted silly money for car insurance. I drove a company car for 7 years plus (claim free) and have 1 years NCB in addition to that in my own name.

30 year old male, living in Kent, quiet area, married etc etc. I'm being quoted £700 plus. Is this realistic or can anyone suggest something better? (this was via elephant.co.uk). I paid about £850 last year on the same car and didn't mind that as I bought the car in a rush to get out of a car scheme!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Try www.confused.co.uk (.com?!) or www.moneysupermarket.co.uk - price comparison sites - ive found the former very useful, ive been with admiral for a couple of years now and found them the cheapest by far.

ETA: although i think there is no real logic to insurance, what appears to be cheap for one person can end up being v expensive for another - just have to do alot of shopping around.

Direct line should give you equivalent NCB for the years you've been driving claim free on a company policy.

I had a suprisingly good quote from BMW Insurance (0870 0240 316) themselves (better than Churchill who I was with) on my '07 520d M Sport. £483 for a 40 yr old Male living in Essex. smile I didn't even know they did insurance until the dealer advised me to use them for 7 day free insurance when collecting the car.

Not so here. Just tried BMW Insurance and they gave me the worst quote I have. May not have been helped by the fact that the woman couldn't find a Z3 M Coupe on her list and had to go and get help.

Best thing is that BMW Insurance make sure your car goes back to an official BMW Bodyshop if the car needs any repairs.

Terv speak to Leon at BHL Insurance.

I am Kent based and had a clubsport up until 5/6 months ago and was a company car driver prior to that. They were the only company that took my NCB from the company car into consideration.

He was close to a £100 better than any other quote.

That's the key - finding a company that will accept your company car no claims history.
