Starting a SP6
Discussion
Didn't think the concept of "flooding existed" - I had a problem starting mine when it was warm/hot - wouldn't start for 30 mins - turned out to be a "sensor" - the engine thought it was cold so made the mixture rich (whatever that is) so wouldn't start. Sensor was changed and bingo all ok now (bit embarassing being towed onto a shuttle in Calais)

Don't touch the throttle until it has fired! Mine starts first time everytime! Maybe after it has fired a wee blip on the throttle to wake the neighbours but never more than say 1500 rpm.
What he said! However, I must admit that there are times, particularly when restarting after half an hour or so of standing (warm), that I need to use the throttle during the cranking process before she fires - definitely not the same as starting from absolutely cold, in which case she fires up first time without any throttle.

I've only detonated two speed sixes so I should know
One more than me.... but then again mine was rebuilt x3 by factory as it was a really crap '98 S6 that was destined to crumble no matter how much TLC you gave it.

Yes my first was an early one. A 2001 that broke its crank shaft, The second time around a spun shell, which in all honesty was self inflicted.
I wonder who's ruined the most speed sixes ?

..... but you would only need to add an unmodified early S6 to your fleet, to enjoy a whole new book of Revelations!
