Anyone fitted Poly bushes to a 4.x griff???
Discussion
They are quite different Ant as I found out.
I tried poly bushes but there was no way to keep them from floating, so I reverted to metelastic on the sides. IIRC Richard Thorpe identified mine as like the Tuscan bushes - these also seemed to have a different shank on the bolt from the later GKN diff'd cars (and BTR's of course).

Dave, I had thought that about the floating too.
I cant see what would stop the poly bush sliding down the bush tube (except the control from the rear bush) at least with the metalastic bush the tube is bonded to the rubber.
Maybe there isnt any chance of it floating , as the bush is just there to stop rotational forces.

No I tried to fit some and they walked, no great problems... but didn't fancy leaving them like that so refitted new metals.
Basically for others that think we are barking... The chassis tube that long bolt goes thru is only the same outer diameter as the bush central dowel, so a poly bush can slide off the bearing. The bush material needs to be fixed to the centre, it is not held captive by any side brackets.

I went on the premise that if I had to have metelastic bushes anywhere, the diff side brackets were probably the easiest to change / inspect so accepted the original
I was quite surprised that they were in far better nick than the upper one on my 93 car, expected they would have been got at by the exhaust heat more than the top one?
Make sure you will be able to wiggle the brackets in if you weld shoulders. Its quite tricky to locate them, the diff & the sensor bracket on top.
