Ummm....that's not an LS engine, its a small block. Its also not a factory approved engine.

I'd seen that vid before, but what I didn't notice last time was the speed that his printer must work. well I assume he's edited the film, becuase he doesn't half walk round to the engine quickly to adjust the boost also.Edited by eliot on Sunday 25th November 09:58
If you pause the vid you can see at the bottom of the readout "inertia factor 1.16"
.... this may be an assumption on driveline loss, if it is a correction factor for atmospheric conditions its a bit cheeky.

My maths aint the best but take that out of the equation and that's 969.9 bhp, thats a lot of power..... this may be an assumption on driveline loss, if it is a correction factor for atmospheric conditions its a bit cheeky.

Is an engine like that useable ?, I mean surely you would have to take a mechanic with you every time you popped down to the shops.

also worth noting that Nelson is moving into the LSx world. they are reputed to be building a couple of 2300bhp LSX engine for customers. they have a vid of a near 2000bhp SBC on thir website.
as othershave said though, in a platform like the Ultima, its going to take alot of electronics to keep an engine like that under control.

PS. might be worht asking about Nelsons 427 NA engine options. they have some pretty impresive stuff and they should beable to get them all to fit in an ultima.

nelson racing engine have been proven to be verry reliable. im sorry but anyone offering 1000+bhp (and this includes Jeffs amazing work) must be 100% sure that their engines will last.

Not sure of any other engine builders having done that.
