Hi Y'all

Had the MIL warning light come on for "Stepper Motor Error" I'm told. Having checked it (the stepper motor) out I now want to turn the warning light off as I'm sure it was just a glitch - anyone got any ideas?

I saw somebody at a TVR garage turn an MIL light off once using a fault code reader. Will I have to buy one myself? Will Halfrauds sell a cheap FCR that will do the job?

I really don't want to go all the way to a garage just to get the light switched off so all and any advice gladly received.

Cheers

Just unplug the ECU for a moment, that will reset all fault codes.

Thanks mt10argyll & GreenV8S!

Went with the 'disconnect the ECU for a minute' option as it was the easiest - worked a treat as you knew it would.

Again - thanks VERY much!

I thought the MIL lights were disconnected and not used, or is this just the later ones?

Well it certainly works on my 97 Chim. Couldn't say for Earlier/Later models perhaps somebody can add to the knowledge base by posting up.

Hmmm, where've I got that from then. I'm sure I read somewhere (Steve Heaths book maybe?) that the MIL light used to come on so much that they disconnected it. Remember thinking Great ! Remove the symptom instead of the problem.
