A starter motor draws a lot of current, so I'd have though that you would be asking quite a lot of the cigar lighter electrics to effectively power the starter motor and get the car going. I usually try to stay away from using the cigar lighter on my cerb. I've only ever used it one, and having scrambled the electrics that time, I've decided just to leave the thing alone (well, I don't smoke anyway). A jumper pack seems like the safe bet to me.

I think it recharges the battery. I doubt there would be enough 'oumph' to turn over a TVR engine. Most of the applications look to use a trickle of power rather than a surge.

That looks very much like the 12V 2.4AH battery that we sell for burglar alarm panels. We charge £6.38 for them. Looks like they've crimped a cigarette lighter adaptor to it.

If ever you've been to A car auction, you'll notice they have a large car battery on a sack truck, for starting the dead cars.

I'm fairly confident they would opt for that pocket size device if it worked.

IMO, if A cerb battery is flat, that small battery wont start it. Unless it's hiding a small nuclear reactor inside it that is smile

Thanks for the imput just thought it would be handy to leave in the car, I suppose the battery packs are that big for a reason.
