Hello guys,

Just preparing to take the chim for its mot next weekend and have got one or two tiny issues to tidy up before i do.

The main one are the doors....i have removed the door buttons on the rear wings and have replaced them with a remote controlled key fob...the fob has three channels, one for the drivers door, one for the passengers and one one for the boot.
Will this pass an mot or do the doors have to be able to open from the outside mechanically???

If so i shall have to fit a button somewhere...probably the mirror!!!

Test Description

Both front doors must be openable from the inside and outside and all doors must latch securely.

looks like you must have to be able to open from the outside - guess it's in case of an accident

They do latch securely...and you can open it from the inside and outside...you just need the fob if you are outside!!! smile

Might have to mount a temporary button somewhere for the mot...

The car is really good...have taken it out for one or two spins...litterally...after months of driving the wifes 206cc it was great to put the foot down and go sideways again!!!

Fingers crossed that it is ready for an MOT this week.... woohoo

Hey, I just looked at your profile.

The painted targa is certainly different ! The whole car looks entirely different ( I suppose the headlight conversions also adds to this)

I suppose you have to strip the material off, sand and paint.

Ever wondered how it would look with red material on the non-targa bit ?

I did before starting out rebuilding the car...but know it is a black pearl so the black should blend in quite nice...
