HI there.

I'm thinking of buying a T350C.

Is it better to buy a 27,000 mile motor having just had a engine re-build or a 13,000 mile car without a engine re-build?? I appreciate that it depends on how the car has been treated and history etc, but this is the dilemma I’m faced with!

I am looking at the £20K mark and looking to part-ex my Discovery 3 for one!

As we are now entering the winter period, I thought it the only sensible way forward rolleyes

Thanks

Having not seen/not knowing the specific cars advice should only be taken with the weight it carries. A fresh rebuild is a good thing, esp. if it comes with a warranty (e.g. TVR Power offers a 2 year warranty on their rebuilds for instance).

Personally, if both engines 'feel fine' I would buy on condition, and how the owner treats the car (esp. engine when cold). It should be easy to spot a cossetted car.

My fist question would be
"Who did the rebuild"

and my second
"How long is the warranty on the rebuild"

Remember, they don't all go bang. And one without a rebuild but 4k cheaper might just mean that you get to choose who rebuilds it, if it becomes necessary.

Past that, condition.

Discovery 3 to a TVR T350 = now there has to be a story there!

OscarT

PS I wouldn't buy a Speed6 TVR unless it had had a post-05 rebuild with good warranty left to run.

Hi Bobd

Not strictly true - my gonads are HUGE as I have a four cylinder car, a five cylinder car, a six cylinder car and an eight cylinder car in the stable at present.

Any more on the way? Watch this space!!

You and I are alike when it comes to cars in that we buy plenty - only problem is I tend to keep them whereas you like to sell them as well.

Anyone up for a run-out before Xmas? Say Saturday 1st or 8th?
