Sean Emmett will race at the TT in 2008
Author: Ben Cope

Published: 25 Nov 07

SEAN Emmett will be racing at the 2008 Isle of Man TT races.

The talented but often troubled BSB rider will be racing on the island for his first time. Emmett, will be riding for Speedfreaks Race Team and is rumoured to have said he'll give current TT champion, John McGuinness, one year before he knocks him off the top spot.

Allegedly the deal is worth £50,000 to Emmett, who's yet to secure a ride in the BSB championship for 2008.

good luck to him...but tbh i think Guy Martin will be more of a challange to John Mc than Emmett

could be interesting

Sounds like an Emmett quote…sadly never lived up to his much hyped form in the early/ mid 90’s…an interesting character and I wish him well but he’s not going to amount to naff all now

The guy is 37. He has never shown any continuity in his career, the result of his attitude maybe? He will never match Reynolds or Hizzy's performances that they managed at that age.

I agree Martin & Plater will be a big threat to McGuinness.

Also worth considering is Cameron Donald, the Aussie. I expect him to go well in '08, especially after his '06 performances and the results he's been getting on the roads.

What support he has I don't know, but he is definitely up there as my dark horse, with a point to prove missing this years TT through injury . . .

ETA - He has signed for Relentless Suzuki, which unless I am mistaken is Hectro Neill's team who ran DJ, Anstey along with their BSS championship win this year with Laverty and a variety of others . . .

whoever takes the win...it will be a stunning meeting...
Used to love to watch Emmett...all mouth sometimes but rode with the pack like a hero all through the glory days...very strange seeing his results take such a dive after the IFC Ducati campaigning ....I suspect he won`t make an impact on the upper timetables at the Island but it`s nice to see him having a go.

I stick by Anstey he set the fastest lap of 2007 initally on a superstock bike!

Platter has still got a bit of track learning to do in the Island however would love him to do well!
