Only having had my chim a day, i am trying to sort the non working heater out. at first i thought it was the switch, but i changed that today for another switch that was in the boot. nothing, it turns to 1,2and 3 position without blowing a fuse now, but no motor.

its kinda cold now, so id like some heat if i can

If the wipers work on 1 & 2, but dont park/intermittent/wash then your park switch needs replacing. Do make sure the wiper relay is seated in the fusebox first.

Did you check the switch is wired up correctly, you have a green wire going in & 3 out to power the blower. Plenty of the early cars just have loose spade terminals and are not keyed. Stick a multimeter across the switch to check as you connect it up is the safest way.

There is a flap behind the carpet on the left of the fusebox, you can just access the fan blower thru this. Spinning by hand and liberally WD40'ing has freed seized motors. If you have to get the thing out its a real PITA...

Hi Spend. thanks for the tips.

Ive just had a quick look, and i can only see on the left (against the wing) a sponge square with like a little tab of metal on it, but it doesnt seem to open or move???

there is a small hole on the bottom, and this i see is for the door hinge. where am i missing it lol

thanks for taking the time to help, appreciate it

That flap pushes in, I normally have a rod that keeps it shut (air drawn in from wing). Its really for AC recirc ~ but seems most early cars have it wink Someone might have closed it up with sealant, try a knife around the flap joint. It is hinged at the top BTW.

You cant get in enough to get at the motor or resistor pack, just enough to spin the fan...
