Hi,
I am debating on what to get at the moment. I drive an e36 328 which is brilliant to drive but i fancy something turbo to make the drive feel a bit more raw!
I am not sure what to go for though? Subaru wrx (not sti because insurance kills me) or a r33 gts.
Has anybody owned both of these or know much about these?
It will be getting used for a good hard drive on weekends but i just dont know which one will suit me more.
Can someone give me some performance figures on thease cars an a general opinion.

Thanks

Dave

The GTS is a non-turbo 2.0 or 2.5 straight-6 which can make a nice noise but isn't very fast. You may be thinking of the GTS-T which is the turbo version.

WRX will beat it for practicality, agility, and B-road/all-weather pace. GTS-T with a few tweaks will be similar straight-line performance, not as 'chuckable' or idiot-proof but much better at going sideways if thats your thing.

i have had both ...

depends what u want in a car ? skyline is a nice big car for motorway journeys etc 2.5 turbo feels good , but not very quick.

impreza is a good fun car on backroads and the like and has more doors for family etc

if u r looking for sommit fun on a back road get an impreza / if u r looking for a motorway cruiser get the skyline would be my advice

I make several trips to Scotland every year as well as long trips to see customers every week and i do it in WRX Sportwagon Scooby. Perfectly comfortable on long journeys, absolutely fine!!

Skyline though is a lovely looking motor, a bit more comfy in the seats department and probably a little bit quieter too but no more better a cruiser than a WRX on the motorway IMHO.

Standard the GTST is pretty unremarkable , around 250hp at the flywheel you can buy a well modded 400+hp one for a little over £5k nowadays though

200sx?

cheap as chips, and modifiable to 280hp for about a grand if you are buying bits brand new.
