Warning for leaving headlights on?

In the last year I managed to leave my headlights switched on twice after parking the car thus running down the battery so I couldn't start it.

In any "normal" car, I'd expect a warning tone to let me know the lights are on if I'm opening the driver's door. My Tuscan doesn't do this. Am I missing something? Is there a software upgrade on the pod that gave this functionality? (mine was manufactured March 2003)

Not as far as I am aware Phil - mine is a July 03 and has no such functionality.

With the reliance on electrics to get in you would have thought a buzzer was a pretty important bit of kit.
Is there anything after market available?

A 12 volt panel mounted buzzer fro RS & a bit of wiring will sort this out. TVR must have realised it was important as well as the MK2 Tuscan does have this.

Here we go, a simple solution which i have had for the last 7 years.
First buy a buzzer, i think mine is a pezzo but any cheap 12v buzzer will do, they are about £3, pull out your interior light and connect the negative (black wire) of the buzzer to the negative of the interior light, then connect the positive of the buzzer (red wire) to the positive of the side lights, i put the buzzer in with the interior light and ran a wire to the boot for the sideblight connection, and that's it, when you open your door you earth the buzzer and if there is power to the side lights your buzzer sounds, cheap and easy.
Of coase i will not be held responsible for any damages incurred with the above installation.

My '06 Tuscan does warm me if I leave the lights on. It's set up through the options on the LCD display.

Thanks Kevin63 simply brilliant or brilliantly simple must give it a go, just a question of hiding the wire but only need a small dia so shouldn't be a problem

Yes, thanks to Kevin. Can anyone tell me if the wires to the interior light come down on the driver's or passenger's side as running all the way to the light doesn't make great sense.

Sorry can't help on that one, I have a Cerbera and I used one of the rear interior lights to connect to, can't you pull out the light and see which direction they go.

If its anything like the Sagaris the interior light has a three wire loom; red, black and purple/red that goes down the drivers side windscreen pillar and joins the main loom with a three pin connector close to the ECU on the sagaris.

Just pull the connector apart to see if this is the one.
I think you will need to put the buzzer in series on one core.

Perhaps it would be a good idea that if someone with a Tuscan fits a lights on buzzer that they can update how it is done on a Tuscan so that other Tuscan owners know exactly how to do it.

Sounds good to me, I could really do with this
as Kevin has already had to tell me they were on at the last meeeting and thank god it was obvious when in the garage the other night!!
