Hello all, first time I've posted in here so please be kind smile

My brother-in-law has just bought a Ferrari 348TB http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/239712.htm and will be collecting it from Kent on Saturday. He lives in Billericay, Essex and asked me to post for him (he needs to sign up himself).

His questions: -
1. Would any of you good people recommend having the car maintained by a local indi? If so, which?
2. He's heard that when the time comes to replace a tyre or two you should replace all four even if not worn! Is this right?
3. Any essential upgrades needed?
4. Are there Ferrari car meets in Essex? If so, when?
5. Any other info you feel important! smile

Thanks in advance!

Welcome.

1. Terry Hoyle in Maldon is very good - 01621 841 444
2. Load of rubbish. Although I tend to change a pair of tyres on the same axle if one is a fair bit lower than the other.
3. Tubi exhaust
4. The Ferrari Owners Club holds one once a month. I cant remember the dates at the moment. Also keep an eye on this forum for local Pheds meets http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&a...
5. Drive it and enjoy it.

Thanks Dion.
I thought it a little strange about the tyres. I would always replace two as you say but four? biggrin
Could Terry Hoyle supply and fit the Tubi?

See the Essex section for the monthly PHeads meet at Rettendon - 15 minutes from Billericay.

Hussman and myself are both Billericay residents.
Hussman also has a 348tb and we go in convoy to the meetings where we meet up with Fbloke (355GTB).

Your brother-in-law will be more than welcome to hook up with us.

1. I'm in Essex, but take my car over QV London on the other side of London.
2. As Dion says, it's ok to change a pair at a time.
3. Tubi, hyper-flow cats, wheels
4. As already posted above - and the occasional London ferrari meets

Hi Matt,
We did actually take the cars out in the dark for this months meeting yikes
It allowed me to demonstrate the fantastic de-misting qualities that my car has (not). I drove the first 5 miles home peering through what seemed a letter box. Lesson learnt... only take out when the sun is shining biggrin

- The oil dipstick is stuck on the end of the oil filler cap.

- Get a battery conditioner to stop getting it flat.

- When starting the car, put key in, put seat belts on (ie; takes 10- 15 seconds),put the clutch down and then start the car.

- When you open the fuel cap, air will rush out. that's normal as it's a pressurised fuel sytem and it's a good sign.

- Make sure the engine oil has warmed up before going over 3,000 revs

- Drive and enjoy

Thanks Angelis, having spent a bit of time on here reading reviews, after buying it, i was getting worried that they may not be the best car in the world as a lot of people had bad things to say so a few pointers helps....

And weather on saturday for pick collection is now looking good!!

p.s. Why start the car with the clutch down?

Remember, most people come on here to find answers to problems. Not many come on here and tell us about how reliable their car is.
Just the nature of PH smile

Oh, as for the clutch down when starting, as I understand it, it takes a little weight off the system so the starter motor has an easier life! I start all cars like this.....just habbit!
